This year’s High Score brings renowned international guests and some of Australia’s best to inspire and encourage participants to hone their own unique sound. Now expanded to a two-day event, day one delivers a ‘crash course’ on the depth and breadth of game composition styles, featuring legendary composers Manami Matsumae (Mega Man series, Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen, Shovel Knight) and Takahiro Izutani (Metal Gear Solid series and Bayonetta series) as joint keynote speakers.

Game Boy music composer Niamh Houston aka Chipzel from Northern Ireland (OctaHedron, Crypt of the Necrodancer, and her latest release Dicey Dungeons) join an all-star panel discussion on the genre of chiptune. Hosted once again by Angharad ‘Rad’ Yeo, of ABC ME’s Spawn Point, the day will be rounded out with guests covering topics including project management, business planning, and the role and value of music in games.

Day two brings together participants with our national and international experts for hands-on composing workshops, tech talks, feedback sessions and networking time. It's all about the skills and tools needed to Explore, Enable, Create and Refine your work - you choose the sessions that suit you best.
